ARBOIS EN BARBI CHARDONNAY 100% Chardonnay. "En Barbi" is the name of the parcel, which was blended into the multi-varietal Chardonnay since the domaine's establishment in 2012. Starting with the 2016 vintage, it was crafted experimentally as a single-vineyard cuvée, and from the 2018 vintage onwards, it has been officially bottled as a single-vineyard wine. The south-facing vineyard resembles an amphitheater surrounded by slopes, sheltered from the wind and benefiting from a warm microclimate that accelerates grape maturity. Situated on approximately 15-year-old vines in marl soils covered with clay, the exceptional drainage places minimal stress on the vines, allowing for the harvest of remarkably healthy and perfectly ripe grapes. Fermentation takes place in 350-liter and 500-liter oak barrels, as well as large casks ranging from 2,000 to 6,000 liters. Aging is conducted with 50% in 350-liter and 500-liter oak barrels, 30% in large casks, and the remaining 20% in stainless steel tanks. Offering aromas reminiscent of tropical fruit and flint, it delivers tension, a smooth mineral texture, generous volume on the palate, and a pristine acidity.
