A rare wine crafted in his home winemaking facilities by François Millet—who has served for over 30 years as the chief winemaker at Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé—alongside his two sons. The 2017 vintage marks their inaugural release. It is produced from grapes grown in the "Le Fourneau" parcel, located just across Route Nationale 74 from Clos de Bèze. Entirely destemmed. While pigeage (punching down) is typically omitted in favor of remontage (pumping over) only, this particular cuvée undergoes a gentle pigeage. Production is limited to just 1 or 2 barrels. Dark fruit aromas such as blackberry are accompanied by nuances of spice and iron, reminiscent of fresh blood. With a sturdy backbone and profound concentration, the finish is exceptionally long, offering a village-level Gevrey of such quality that it easily rivals a premier cru.
