A Beaune premier cru and a Bouchard monopole, this wine is known for its abundance of fruit. The 2019 is a high-quality vintage, generous in both fruit and acidity and with real concentration. Golden and beautiful, richly aromatic and full-bodied, yet marked by a grapefruit-like touch of bitterness. High temperatures and low rainfall did reduce the crop; millerandage raised concentration while preserving acidity levels, giving a wine of fine balance at a high level. In the cellar, gentle pressing and a short, cool fermentation preserved the wine’s freshness and airiness.
