MEURSAULT 1ER CRU PORUZOT 100% Chardonnay. Located on the mid-slope in clay-limestone soils, this 0.25-hectare parcel is planted with vines averaging around 50 years of age. Vinification mirrors that of Meursault 1er Cru Les Charmes, featuring a slow alcoholic fermentation in oak casks lasting over three weeks, followed by 18 months of aging in 30% new oak. Compared to its Premier Cru sibling Charmes, Poruzot tends to reveal its charms earlier. It offers aromas of green apple and fresh pear, with upfront fruit flavors and a rounded yet tightly focused, linear profile on the palate. The overall impression leans closer to Puligny-Montrachet than to a classic Meursault. Document provided by Finesse Inc.
