100% Pinot Noir. The vineyards are situated east of the village of Volnay in "Les Petits Prés" and "Grandes Terres," covering a total area of 0.70 hectares across these two parcels. The vines are approximately 35 years old. This well-rounded wine presents aromas of strawberries and cherries, balanced fresh fruit flavors, delicate acidity, and a subtle, stony minerality. It is approachable from an early age. Because the vineyards are particularly susceptible to hail damage, the production volume is remarkably small relative to the estate's holdings. (Source: Finesse Co., Ltd. documentation) The year 2022 began with a dry and hot spring, followed by a rainless summer characterized by relentless, blistering heat. Naturally, grape maturation progressed rapidly, leading us to begin harvesting on August 23rd—the second earliest date in our history following 2020. However, much like the warm and dry years of 2019 and 2020, the negative aspects of such vintages were absent, resulting in a truly magnificent harvest. Yields were in line with average years, and the quality of both red and white grapes was utterly flawless—making this a rare and unprecedented vintage of extraordinary caliber.
