BOURGOGNE PASSETOUTGRAIN This blend consists of two-thirds Pinot Noir and one-third Gamay. Sourced from a 0.32-hectare parcel of approximately 20-year-old vines located in 'En Monpoulain' to the east of the village of Volnay. The wine is beautifully defined by a savory, mineral salinity, fresh acidity, and delicious fruit flavors, all coming together in a slender, elegant profile. The 2022 growing season was marked by a dry, warm spring followed by a rainless summer of intense heat. Naturally, this accelerated the ripening of the grapes, leading to an exceptionally early harvest starting on August 23rd—the second earliest on record after 2020. However, much like the hot and dry vintages of 2019 and 2020, this year avoided any of the negative traits often associated with such extreme weather, resulting in an outstanding vintage. Yields were average, and the quality of both the red and white grapes was absolutely flawless, making this a rare and remarkable vintage unlike any seen in recent years.
