100% Pinot Noir. The domaine owns about 0.25 ha in “Les Rouges du Bas”, where vines of around 50 years are planted on marl soils dating from the Middle Jurassic, some 170 million years old. Unlike Grands-Échezeaux, the parcel lies on a hillside where the soil is shallow, so the wine is soft on the palate, with fresh red-fruit aromas of raspberry and a cool nuance of undergrowth, making for a delicate style.
