PERNAND-VERGELESSES CUVÉE ALEXANDRA 100% Chardonnay. Named after Alexandra, the daughter of the current winemaker, this cuvée was originally created during the tenure of the previous proprietor. It utilizes relatively young vines planted in 2006 within the "Le Devant des Cloux" parcel, a deep clay-limestone terroir strewn with numerous surface stones. Benefiting from a sun-drenched south-facing exposure and surrounded by forest, the soil is rich in leaf mold, while the surface stones retain daytime heat well into the night, ensuring exceptional grape maturity. This cuvée sees a slightly higher proportion of new oak than the standard Pernand-Vergelesses, offering tropical fruit aromas, a rich and oily fruit profile with mineral undertones, and a robust, full-bodied presence. While substantial and deeply satisfying, it retains a youthful firmness that calls for a little patience. Source: FINESSE INC.
