CHÂTEAUNEUF-DU-PAPE BLANC Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc 50% Roussanne, 50% Clairette. The vines are planted on clay-limestone soils in a cool terroir ideally suited for white grape varieties. Up until the 2005 vintage, Grenache Blanc was also part of the blend, but due to vine disease and subsequent replanting, the wine has been crafted exclusively from Roussanne and Clairette in recent years. It offers a delightful harmony between the suppleness of Roussanne and the acidity of Clairette, holding exceptional potential. The 2002 vintage was exceptionally dry with very hot summer days, leading to early ripening. To preserve freshness and vibrant acidity, harvest began more than ten days earlier than usual. Consequently, the color is not overly deep, featuring a gentle touch, spicy acidity, a rich and concentrated fruit profile, and a smooth, medium-bodied palate that leans toward a longevity-focused style. Similarly, 2023 was a hot and dry year, but timely rainfall in June ensured sufficient subterranean water levels, resulting in an outstanding vintage in both quality and quantity. Fresh floral aromas, rich fruit and mineral notes, and lively acidity combine to create a remarkably well-balanced finish. (Source: Finesse Co., Ltd.)
